It is the last Avenged Sevenfold album to feature their metalcore sound, although there are much more clean vocals on this album than their first release, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet.Waking the Fallen was Avenged Sevenfold's first album to feature bassist Johnny Christ as well as the first to feature the full current line-up (up until The Rev's death), after Dameon Ash's Departure. The album was certified gold on July 15, 2009.
