The follow up single "Universe" was lost in the Christmas rush and did not reach the charts.Noddy Holder became weary of constant touring (and effectively managing the band), and left the band in late 1991 after 25 years. The remainder of the band were given time in which to consider their options. Rather than take on another singer, Jimmy Lea effectively retired too. Dave Hill and Don Powell (the band's founder members) formed Slade II with two other local musicians. The name was once again shortened to Slade after a period.
