High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Walsh Gymnasium is a multi-purpose arena in South Orange, New Jersey. The arena opened in 1939 and can seat 2,600 people. It was home to the Seton Hall University Pirates men`s basketball team before they moved to Continental Airlines Arena and then the Prudential Center. Currently, the arena hosts the women`s basketball and volleyball teams, and is part of the Richie Regan Recreation and Athletic Center. The building, like the school`s main library, is named for His Excellency, the Right Rev. Thomas J. Walsh, S.T.D., J.U.D., Fifth Bishop of Newark and former President of the Board of Trustees.
