Walton is a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in the Municipal District of East Hants, which is in Hants County, Nova Scotia.Acadians lived in the village before the Expulsion of the Acadians. At that time the community was named Petit Rivier. The Acadians built dykes and four dwellings. Walton eventually became a well known shipping site for gypsum and barite. The Walton barite mine was the largest producer in Canada.
