High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Wargrave railway station is a railway station in the village of Wargrave in the county of Berkshire in England. The station is served by local services operated by First Great Western on the Henley-on-Thames branch between Henley-on-Thames and Twyford 3 km (1 3/4 miles) south. There is a single platform serving both directions. When the Henley Branch Line was opened no station was provided at Wargrave; apparently it was considered that Twyford station was close enough. After many complaints from the villagers a station was opened in 1900. At the time the line was double, so two platforms and a footbridge were provided. The station retained its Great Western Railway building until 1988 when it was demolished on the excuse that it was "unsafe".
