The single player campaign will be playable for races other than the Space Marines. As of October 2010, the Orks and the Tyranids have been announced as playable races in single-player. It will also reintroduce base building to some degree. An additional playable race will be included, but has not yet been announced. There are speculations that the new playable race would be Imperial Guard or the Inquisition, due to the Inquisition triple lined "I" used in the word "Retribution" in the game trailer. The Eldar have also recently been announced as a playable race in single player. Eldar warriors in the colours of craftworld Iyanden were shown to be fighting the Black Legion. The motives of the Eldar and the identities of their leaders is currently unknown.The Tyranids have been confirmed as a playable faction in the Campaign.
