It is the default browser for many old phones running on the Symbian mobile operating system and all new phones running on Symbian. It was developed by Nokia. The browser is based on a port of Apple Inc.’s open source WebCore and JavaScriptCore frameworks which form the WebKit rendering engine that Apple uses in its Safari Web browser. These frameworks were themselves based on software ported from the KDE project (KHTML and KJS).
