He currently resides in Los Angeles.Wolfgang Bauer is the son of a dentist, Herbert Bauer, and chef, Elfriede Nebel. He studied theater directing at the Max Reinhard Seminar (the Hochschule fuer Musik und Darstellende Kunst Vienna Austria) and the Mozarteum (the Hochschule fuer Musik und Darstellende Kunst) in Salzburg. Bauer worked in the theatrical and cinematic arts extensively in the 1980s and 1990s. His work in theatre, film and television largely took place in Munich, Germany, Vienna and Salzburg. Concurrently, he studied painting with the Austrian artist and student of Oscar Kokoschka, Alexander Tinti.
