High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Wood Lake Township is a civil township in Benson County, North Dakota, USA. As of the 2000 census, its population was 440. It is the second most populous township in Benson County after Mission Township. A civil township is a widely used unit of local government in the United States, subordinate to, and geographic divisions of, a county. Specific responsibilities and the degree of autonomy vary based on each state. Civil townships are distinct from survey townships, but in states that have both, the boundaries often coincide. The U.S. Census Bureau classifies civil townships (called "towns" in New England, New York and Wisconsin) as minor civil divisions.
