X Condominium is a high-rise condominium building located at 590 Jarvis Street near the intersection of Bloor and Jarvis in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada by Great Gulf Homes. Construction is ongoing, as of July 2009. Designed by Peter Clewes of architectsAlliance, this residential structure is 137 metres tall with 44 floors and 437 suites. The structure is clad with dark glass and was designed to pay homage to the German architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, designer of the TD Centre. Peter Clewes is a Canadian architect and the principal of the Toronto-based firm architectsAlliance. He has been one of the leading architects in the condo boom that has reshaped Toronto in the first decade of the 21st century. His projects include SP!RE, Casa Condominio Residenza?, Murano, Burano, X Condominium, 20 Niagara, and MoZo. He most often works for Howard Cohen of Context Developments.
