High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Xenohyla truncata is a species of frog in the Hylidae family. It is endemic to Brazil. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist shrubland and intermittent freshwater marshes. It is threatened by habitat loss. This frog is unique among amphibians in that it is the world's only fruit eating frog. Fruit eating behavior is intrinsic, with fruit making up a significant percent of the frog's diet. Frogs are amphibians in the order Anura (meaning "tail-less", from Greek an-, without + oura, tail), formerly referred to as Salientia (Latin salere (salio), "to jump"). Most frogs are characterized by long hind legs, a short body, webbed digits (fingers or toes), protruding eyes and the absence of a tail.
