It is programmed by San Diego-based Uniradio, Inc. that owns and programs various Spanish language radio stations. Its license and transmitter is owned by a Mexican company. The station plays Regional Mexican music. The station carries similar programming to sister XHTY, but caters to the Tijuana side of the border. Radio broadcasting is an audio (sound) broadcasting service, broadcast through the air as radio waves (a form of electromagnetic radiation) from a transmitter to a receiving antenna. Stations can be linked in radio networks to broadcast common programming, either in syndication or simulcast or both.
