His style name was 'Kongzhang' and his sobriquet was 'Yi'an'. He was the grandson of the great painting-collector Xiang Yuandian. Xiang's painting followed the style of Wen Zhengming. Xiang specialized in landscapes and flowers with an elegant taste. Zhejiang is an eastern coastal province of the People's Republic of China. The word Zhejiang was the old name of the Qiantang River, which passes through Hangzhou, the provincial capital. The name of the province is often abbreviated to "Zhe".
