High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Xie Jin (1369–1415) was a Chinese landscape painter and calligrapher during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). Xie was also known by other names: 'Dashen', 'Chin Hsieh', 'Jinshen', and 'Qunyou'. Some of his works can be found at the Shanghai Museum. Landscape art is a term that covers the depiction of natural scenery such as mountains, valleys, trees, rivers, and forests, and especially art where the main subject is a wide view, with its elements arranged into a coherent composition. In other works landscape backgrounds for figures can still form an important part of the work.
