High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Yas V8 400 is a V8 Supercar motor racing event and presently one of two V8 Supercar events held outside of Australa or New Zealand. The race is held at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The inaugural event was announced as the opening event of the 2010 V8 Supercar Championship Series, becoming the second venue in the Middle East to host the Australian series, joining Bahrain International Circuit, home of the Desert 400. The race uses a shorter version of the F1 track, with a "Corkscrew" secion between Turn 3 and halfway down the back straight. This shortens the track to 4.7km, with lap times around 2 minutes. The first event was won by Jamie Whincup who won both races dominating the weekend.
