This is in the Ananthapur district of Andhra Pradesh. The village, surrounded by greenery and hills, is situated on the banks of the river Chitravathi. The village population consists of all castes, majorly dominated by Reddy caste And Balijas. The main crops cultivated in this village are paddy, groundnuts, sugarcane, sunflower and other vegetable crops. The main source of irrigation is groundwater. It is well connected by road, railway and air. The village was governed by Sri P. Sathyanarayana Reddy in the earlier 1980s. He served as Sarpanch for a decade and developed the village in all aspects, providing basic amenities such as roads and drinking water facilities, establishing primary schools, and developing a primary health center. The other Sarpanches who governed the village are sri C. Subbaiah, sri J. Ramakrishna and sri V. Suryanarayana Reddy. The village merged with the Puttaparthi Major Panchayat in 2007. The village is 3.5 hours from Bangalore.
