High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Yichang-Wanzhou Railway, or the Yiwan Railway is a railway under construction in the Chinese province of Hubei and the municipality of Chongqing. It will be part of the future Huhanrong Passenger Dedicated Line from Shanghai to Wuhan to Chengdu, connecting with the Hanyi Railway (Hankou-Yichang) at Yichang East Railway Station, and with another line to the west at Wanzhou. The 377-km long railway will cross the remarkably difficult terrain of the southwestern Hubei (Yichang City and Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture) and the eastern part of the Chongqing Municipality (Wanzhou District). Until recently, that region had no railways, and hardly any good paved roads (beyond China National Highway 318, which the new railway is more or less parallel too). A new expressway is being built along the same corridor as well. At Lichuan Station, the Yuli Branch will connect to the Yiwan Railway, providing direct connection to Chongqing for some of the trains.
