High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Yooralla is a non-profit disability support and community service provider in Victoria, Australia. Yooralla assists those who live with a disability acquired from birth, accident, ill health or age. Assistance is given to children and adults to do everyday things that most of us take for granted - eating, moving about, talking, showering, working and generally living independently. Yooralla employs over 1,300 specialist staff across the state to address the needs of approximately 30,000 Victorians each year. It offers pre-school, school-aged and adult therapy services, residential accommodation, respite in and out of home, equipment, advocacy, employment and recreation services. Yooralla prides itself in the supports it provides and has a commitment to providing these within a person-centred framework. Sister Faith started Yooralla when she founded a kindergarten for crippled children in 1918 in Carlton during a polio epidemic. Yooralla is an indigenous word meaning 'place of love'.
