High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Yoshiharu Gotanda (born 1976) is a Japanese video game programmer. He began his career with Wolfteam, initially assisting with the programming of Neugier for the Super Famicom in 1993; he was only 17 years old at the time. He followed this project with Hiouden: Mamono-tachi tono Chikai in 1994. After this, Gotanda wrote an unpublished novel called Tale Phantasia, which he then turned into the game Tales of Phantasia. This game was financed, produced and published by Namco, but developed by members of Wolfteam. During the production of Tales of Phantasia, Gotanda had many debates over the marketing and branding of the game with Namco, particularly debates over the name and characters that led to the game being delayed for over a year. During these delays, he quit and co-founded tri-Ace with Masaki Norimoto and Joe Asanuma. tri-Ace's first game was Star Ocean: Fantastic Space Odyssey, which he wrote and programmed. Today he is the president of tri-Ace and the manager of the research and development division.
