"You" was originally recorded for Ronnie Spector, who didn't end up using the track. The backing track was recorded in 1970, during the sessions for All Things Must Pass, with the help of Spector's husband Phil Spector. In 1975 Harrison simply recorded his own vocal over the track and released it on his Extra Texture (Read All About It) album. Lyrics "I love you" and "you love me" make this tune one of the simplest Harrison's songs. A 45 second instrumental version of the song is reprised on the Extra Texture album and is followed by "Can't Stop Thinking About You."
