Young Actors Theatre and School for the Performing Arts (YAT) is a non-profit youth theatre located in Tallahassee, Florida, and is the fourth largest youth theatre in the nation. It has operated since 1975 (originally under the name "Tallahassee Children`s Theatre") under the guidance of its original founder, Christina F. Williams, who is now the executive director at "YAT." YAT was founded in part by Zoltan Farkas, Williams` father, who was very supportive of her decision and became the financial beginning to the theatre. Tallahassee Children`s Theatre was later renamed Young Actors Studio after Williams visited LA and saw "the Actors Studio." She believed this new name would better reflect the nature of Young Actors.
