High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Young Mizo Association (YMA) is the Mizo apex body, established as the Young Lushai Association (YLA) on June 15, 1935. Zawlbuk, the traditional dormitory and training ground for young men had come to its end, and the association was possibly envisioned as a likely substitute for the Zawlbuk institution. Young Lushai Association was renamed to the present Young Mizo Association (YMA) in 1947. It was registered on May 14, 1977 with the Government of Mizoram as per Firms and Society Registration Act 1860 (Act XXI of 1860) under SR No. 4 of 1977.
