High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! "Yours Is No Disgrace" is the opening track of 1971 album The Yes Album by the British progressive rock band Yes. It is notable as the first song to feature Steve Howe on guitar. It is one of the band's best known early songs and is the first in which the band attempted to explore longer songs, which would come to be a vital attribute in Yes songs over the next decade on albums such as Close to the Edge, Tales from Topographic Oceans, and Relayer. The song, along with other album tracks "Starship Trooper" and "Perpetual Change", is an early example of a rock epic for its complex form and length. The song's composition had important contributions from all band members. It begins with the first sounds of Steve Howe's jagged, distorted guitar, followed by a powerful duet of Tony Kaye's warm organ and Chris Squire's growling bass, and then an a capella by Jon Anderson. From here on, all the members join together in an ensemble and the song grows in its complexity.
