High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Youth CAN (Youth Community Action Network) is a nation-wide Ukrainian non-governmental youth organization. It aims to promote civil society development by increasing youth participation in civic activities and grass-root community problem-solving in Ukraine. Youth CAN members are young people who empower their peers, educate about democracy, civil society values, human rights, set positive example of civil activism and encourage grass-root community problem solving. It started as a Camp Rah-Rah, first organized in 1995 - a summer leadership camp run by American Peace Corps Volunteers. In a few years, the project grew into a series of trainings developing project design and management skills, and then, in 2004, the youth-led Ukrainian organization was created. It gathers young motivated people from all over the country to provide them with skills sufficient to hold small projects to help their local communitites. Some alumni of Youth CAN programs organize community groups of their own to increase impact.
