It is the first Yu-Gi-Oh! GX game to support Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The story starts off with the player on a ship, sailing to Duel Academy, with your friends Jaden Yuki and Syrus Truesdale. After arriving at the land, you visit your dorm for the first time. As you progress through the game, you start making new friends, but new rivals as well, your biggest being Chazz Princeton.
