High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Yucatan Wren (Campylorhynchus yucatanicus) is a species of bird in the Troglodytidae family. It is endemic to Mexico. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, and is only found on the narrow coastal strip of the northern Yucatan Peninsula. It is threatened by habitat loss. The wrens are passerine birds in the mainly New World family Troglodytidae. There are about 80 species of true wrens in about 20 genera. The genus eponymous of the family is Troglodytes. Only one species of Troglodytes occurs in the Old World, where in Anglophone regions it is commonly known simply as the "wren" as it is the originator of the name; it is called the Winter Wren in North America. The name wren has been applied to other, unrelated birds in Australia and New Zealand.
