He is currently a Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. He is also a Changjiang Scholar Guest Chair Professor of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China. Yuwen Zhang received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut in 1998. Before joining the faculty at at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in the University of Missouri (MU) in 2003, he was a faculty member at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in New Mexico State University. He also holds a Changijang Scholar Guest Chair Professorship at Xi'an Jiaotong University in China.
