It is on the direct line Amsterdam - Uitgeest.The first station was opened in Zaandam on November 1 1869. This was a station of the type SS Hoogezand. This building had a large middle section, with a ticket office, with the passageways to the platforms. At this middle piece were the 2 lower portions of the building. The facade had a big clock, there was also a freestanding building next to the station.
