Dumble began making amplifiers in the late 1960s in Santa Cruz. There are reportedly fewer than 300 in total. Amplifier models have included the Overdrive Special (ODS), Overdrive Reverb, Steel String Singer (SSS), Dumbleland, Phoenix (a rack mounted amp), Hotel Hog and Winterland. Dumble amplifiers are considered to be one of the few precursors to the explosion of Boutique amplifier companies on the market.

The controversial episode tells the story of a bisexual man who is deliberately infecting people, including series lead character Jack Killian`s ex-girlfriend, with HIV. AIDS and LGBT rights activists disrupted filming, citing concerns over the negative portrayal of bisexual and HIV-positive people and fears that the show would make people with AIDS the targets of violence. Series executives made some changes to the script in response to these concerns, but activists were still displeased.

All incarnations of Bulkhead are Autobots and are green in color. He was introduced in Transformers: Energon as a Mega Vehicle and later redebuted in Transformers: Animated as a completely new character. The Animated Bulkhead became so popular that he was adapted to reappear in Transformers: Prime. The Animated/Prime Bulkhead appears as a main character in both series.
